The 7th grade classes at St. Mary-Basha Catholic School have responded to Bishop Olmsted's call to participate in the grassroots effort of prayer, fasting and community outreach called "40 Days For Life." They have written letters to the unborn babies. View their wonderful letters below.
Dear Gift from God,
You are not only precious in God's eyes, but in mine and many other's. You are part of God's Kingdom, and you are greatly appreciated. You and all babies are one of the most fascinating miracles I can even begin to imagine.
I wanted to let you know that many people are praying that you might have life and your mother and God give life. Have a wonderful life!
Dear Unborn Baby,
I hope you have a safe and joyful birth. I hope you accomplish many things in your life. May you always stay close to God and remember He is the center to happiness. Always remember God will be at your side to talk to and love. He'll never leave you.
I hope you have a wonderful life full of happiness. Remember to always try your best in everything you do. Have fun, stay safe.
Dear Unborn Baby,
Congratulations for coming to Earth! God must really love your family for blessing them with you. I hope they are as loving and caring as my family is. I'm sure that they will take very good care of you. I know that they will always try to make you happy and do what is best for you.
Your life will be great when you are finally born. Many people would love to see you and will visit you a lot. All of them already love you, like me. I know that when I finally do see you, I will want to visit again and again. Always remember that the only one who will love you more than your family and friends is God.
Dear Unborn Baby,
I know you will have a great life. You will have fun while you're a toddler, kid, adolescent, teenager, and an adult. You'll learn many things from the ABC's to learning how to drive.
You will have some challenges in your lifetime as well. You'll get in fights, might not have good relationships, and separate from your parents. When you're older, friends might be closer to you than your parents. It's all your choices. The best is yet to come.
Dear Unborn Baby,
Your life means so much to us who are living now. You could be a very good person and very intelligent, and who knows, you may be the one who finds a cure for cancer. We will be praying for you every day. I hope your life ends up being a wonderful one.
Dear My Little Brother or Sister in Christ,
I am very excited to know you! I am so glad, and what a blessing it is that the Lord God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Maker of the stars and the universe, decided to make you! Oh, you're such a special little human. You want to know why? God created you, that's why! Great news, too, my little brother or sister in Christ. God loves you! God loved you so much, that He sent His only Son to die for you and the world. Do you know God's Son's name? It is Jesus, the holiest human to live on earth. You know what's funny, though? Jesus was being a human and being God at the same time! That's cool, isn't it? Oh, I can't stop telling you how much I love you and how much God loves you! Also, you're so lucky to be a baby! You know why? Babies are the most holiest, the most pure, and the most beautiful humans to ever live on earth. To tell you the truth, I kinda wish that I was a baby, because then I would be pure, holy and beautiful. Yet, if you become Catholic, receive the Eucharist, and go to confession, even though you're all grown up, your little soul will still be like that of when you are born, just like a baby. It is such a blessing to be in your mother's womb, and for her to decide that she wants you to live, is a huge miracle in the making! I must tell you though, my little brother or sister in Christ, that, sadly, some of your other little brothers or sisters in Christ do not see the light of day, because they are aborted, or killed in the womb of their mothers. Yet, I am so happy to know you! Also, do not forget how much I love you, my little brother or sister in Christ.
Dear Unborn Baby,
During these Lenten weeks prayers are being said for you and your mother, or parents. My wish for you is a good, long life in which you will take pride. I feel you should be offered a chance in this world, and I pray that your parents will welcome you with open arms and love.
If you're given the chance you will be an amazing person. You and your parents are in my prayers. May your parents be loving and kind, and give you what you are entitled to and deserve.
May your family receive you with open arms and rejoice at your birth. Let every option of your wonderful future be considered. Wherever you find yourself, always know that someone cares about you and what you do. Don't think you are alone, because someone will always be there. Amen.
Dear Unborn Child,
I hope you have a great life. I hope your parents are good parents. I think you are a gift from God. I hope you come to know God's love for you. I hope you are a great person in this life and in the next.
You will have fun in this life. One way is you can participate in sports and in either Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. A second way is you can play video games when you are old enough. A third way is I want you to have a very happy life. I do not want you to die.
