St. Mary-Basha offers a variety of clubs, including Choir, Student Council, Yearbook, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and a Chess Club.

Choir

Mrs. Pfeifer serves as choir director.  Choirs sing at school Masses and special events like 1st Communion/ Confirmation, Christmas morning, Palm Sunday, and Easter Sunday Masses.  Students in grades 5-8 can join choir by an audition.  Choir rehearsals occur at lunch times.

Student Council

St. Mary-Basha School has an established Student Council. The Student Council officers are elected annually by the student body. Each homeroom from Grades 4-8 elects their representatives to the Student Council. From these representatives, liasons are chosen for Grades K-3. The Student Council sponsors a variety of spiritual, educational, and social events throughout the school year.

Yearbook

Students in Junior High are welcome to join the Yearbook Committee. This year we are working with Jostens Yearbooks to produce a 56 page, hardcover, all-color book. This is a year-long commitment which will involve students choosing the cover, fonts, and layouts of the pages, taking pictures of school events, downloading and uploading pictures to the Jostens website, proofing pages and delivering finished books at the end of the year. The Yearbook Committee will meet in the Media Room located in the Library during lunch and afterschool. Anyone interested in joining should see the Yearbook Adviser, Mrs. Ballesteros.

Boy Scouts

Boy Scouting is for youth ages 11-17.  The ideals of the Boy Scout program include a duty to God and country, serving others and self development.  Activities include outdoor camping, hiking, and backpacking activities, summer camp, varied service opportunities, and gaining knowledge on a variety of topics through the merit badge program.  Several excellent troops are represented at St. Mary-Basha.  Contact the school office for more information.

Cub Scouts

St. Mary-Basha Cub Scouts, Pack 132 - Grand Canyon Council, offers scouting adventures for grades 1-5: Tiger Scouts (grade 1), Wolf Scouts (grade 2), Bear Scouts (grade 3) and Webelos I and II (grades 4 and 5 respectively).  St. Mary-Basha Cub Scouts are involved with community service to support our school and the local communities, hiking, camping, wood working projects and more.  Our motto is "Do you best."  Contact the school office for more information.

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouting is about learning new skills and developing new interests. It's about having fun and making new friends. Within the family of Girl Scouts, you discover your personal best; connect with others, locally and globally; and take action to improve the lives of people within your community. St. Mary-Basha is proud to support Girl Scouts from Daisies to Brownies to Girl Scouts. For more information contact the school office.

Chess Club

Chess Club runs September through December.  It meets after school once a week for one hour and is open to students in grades K-8.
