What we have accomplished:

This past summer we purchased computers for our Science Lab and created a multimedia/reading remediation lab in the library. The multimedia computers have DVD burners and larger hard drives for student multimedia projects. Each classroom teacher received a new DVD player as well. We can now use our beautiful plasma TV in conjunction with our new science lab computers to show lab simulations and research to support the Arizona State Science Standard:
PO 2. Use appropriate research information, not limited to a single source, to use in the development of a testable hypothesis.
PO 2. Select appropriate resources for background information related to a question, for use in the design of a controlled investigation.
PO 4. Predict the outcome of an investigation based on prior evidence, probability, and/or modeling (not guessing or inferring).

Our biggest purchase and new edition, is our school-wide grading system called GradeQuick. Now our teachers are able to work on grades from any computer with Internet capabilities. We also purchased Site Reporter to help us generate data on each and every child. Golf monies provided training and support for our teachers has they learned and are still learning all the wonderful capabilities of GradeQuick. Now we have one database that is constantly updated to keep current information on students. This has freed up more time for staff members, as they are able to get accurate data from one central location.

We save a portion of our profits each year to upgrade our lab/library and move the lab/library computers to the classrooms. This is a cycle that keeps our school current with technology hardware.

Wish List: Our school definitely has a wish list! We are hoping to add report card templates to our GradeQuick program. Teachers will be able to generate report cards from our database. A company will be assessing our network and talking to us about how we can grow and maintain our already outstanding technology program. In this process, we will need to upgrade severs in the future. Our teachers are really depending on our technology to integrate their curriculums and they have expressed a need for a traveling laptop cart to use if the compute lab is occupied. We must use golf monies to upgrade our lab/library computers from Office 2000 to Office 2003/XP and renew our anti-sypware/anti-virus software. We also need a reliable back-up utility for our 3 servers and golf monies can help us with a remote back-up location company.
