St. Mary-Basha Catholic School Advisory Board 2020-2021
Edgar is excited to participate in the success of St. Mary-Basha Catholic School’s transformation in these extraordinary and challenging times as an Advisory Board member. He is originally from Southern California and born from Salvadoran immigrants. Edgar graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in International Business. He has owned a surf lodge business in El Salvador for 8 years and has also worked as a tax preparer and other jobs throughout his life. He currently works for Wells Fargo in Risk Management. He enjoys golfing, skateboarding, coaching his daughter’s soccer team and attending mass on weekends. As part of the board, he is dedicated to providing the best educational and spiritual experience for your children.
Lisa serves on the board as the Catholic Identity Chairperson. She is excited to use her background in youth ministry, catechesis, and evangelization to serve the community of St. Mary Basha. Lisa and her husband, Sergio, have four kids - two currently attending St. Mary’s and the next two soon to follow.
Kristin is the proud parent of a kindergartener and fourth grader. She has been involved with Catholic schools since she was in preschool herself. She has attended Catholic schools through high school and she believes strongly in the foundation and guidance it provides our youth. She has a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Iowa and a Master of Arts in Sports Recreation Management. Kristin has been a certified and licensed athletic trainer since 2005. She is currently practicing as a PRN athletic trainer and provides valuable services to our high school athletes in the community, including Seton Catholic and several surrounding high schools.
David and his wife of thirteen years have three children at the school (sixth, fourth, second grades) and one future eagle. He has been part of the community of St. Mary-Basha School for over four years. I am currently a Senior Project Manager for Rider Levett Bucknall with over twenty years of construction and project management experience. David is the facilities chair on the Advisory Board.
Joanne Bannan Vogt
Joanne is a proud parent of 3 SMB students. She and her husband own an aerospace company in Chandler. Joanne is originally from California where she coached, taught and worked in school administration. The majority of her education experience was as Athletic Director and Dean of Students at an all-girls Catholic High School in Pasadena, CA.
A product of Catholic Schools, Joanne has a BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and a MA in Education Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA.
Joanne enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Since all of their extended family is outside of the East Valley they enjoy traveling to visit family. They also do a lot of DIY projects around the house.
MacGarret serves as vice president of the school advisory board. Along with his wife, Leslie, they have four children enrolled at St. Mary-Basha, including three in K-8 and one in preschool. MacGarret is an associate vice president at the Steier Group, a national Catholic fundraising firm, and has lived in the East Valley for 7 years. Interestingly, he has sailed around the world and lists Ben & Jerry's Phish Food as his favorite ice cream. When asked Why St. Mary-Basha?, he responded: "Our family wholeheartedly supports Catholic education and values the diverse student body, quality academics, and deep care shown by teachers and administrators at St. Mary-Basha Catholic School."
Cayci is pleased to be involved with the Advisory Board at St. Mary-Basha this year. This community is near and dear to her heart as she attended SMB in the late 80s and early 90s when her family first moved to Chandler. She is a native to Arizona, and holds a BA and MBA as a graduate of Arizona State University. Go Devils! Her career has been in Sales and Development through the pharmaceutical industry and in nonprofit the last 9 years as a Senior Vice President with the American Heart Association. Cayci and her husband Mark reside in Chandler, own a few small local businesses and together have 5 children. She looks forward to continuing to serve the SMB community and give back the value of the impact we have been grateful to receive.
Jason was born and raised in Chandler, AZ. He was privileged to attend St. Mary-Basha all of elementary and junior high (1st-8th grade) and was also blessed to attend in the same class as his wife Meghan, who is also a former SMB alumni. After graduating from SMB, he attended and graduated from Seton Catholic High School in 2005. He was a recipient of a scholarship to Seton Hall University where he acquired his bachelor's degree in business management, graduating in 2008. He has worked in the financial market for over 12 years at Vanguard supervising and supporting the back office brokerage operations. Jason and his wife Meghan have three children and are active members in the local community.
Paul is a native of Philadelphia, PA, a veteran of the US Air Force and a 12 year veteran of a Catholic education. Paul and his wife Tracy moved to Chandler full time in late 2010. After obtaining a degree in accounting from Temple University he has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. He has been blessed with the success of founding and building a national firm that was purchased by a publicly traded company some years ago. Paul now enjoys the responsibilities of being an executive for a major insurance company. His goal is to bring his life and business experiences to our advisory board in an effort to leave our school sustainable for generations to come. However, his most important position is as a husband to Tracy and father to three students at St. Mary-Basha Catholic School.
Laura Luna Bellucci currently serves as the SMB Home and School Association Co-President. Laura and her family have been part of the SMB community for 7 years and she has two daughters that attend SMB. Laura attended catholic school at St. Phillip's the Apostle in Pasadena, CA for 5 years before her family moved to Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona, also known as the White Mountains. During that time, there was no catholic school on the White Mountains and she finished her schooling at Blue Ridge Schools. Throughout her youth, Laura and her family were registered and active parishioners at St. Mary of the Angels parish in Pinetop, Arizona. Laura participated in religious education, received her sacrament of confirmation, and was a member of the church youth choir. Laura's catholic identity was instilled and formed as a core value at a very early age. Now, Laura and her husband Adam are parishioners of St. Mary Magdalene and are raising their children to learn, grow and practice their catholic faith. Laura is also a full-time, working parent serving as the Chief of the Office of Children’s Health for the Arizona Department of Health Services. Laura holds a Master’s in Business Administration from The University of Phoenix and an undergraduate degree in Spanish and Sociology from The University of Arizona. Laura and her family enjoy volunteering, traveling, watching movies, spending time with family, and UA Wildcats basketball.
Erika is an Arizona native and Seton Catholic High School alumna. She and her husband, Carlos, have 4 children - three of whom attend SMB. She has a B.A. in Journalism & Human Communication, as well as an M.A. in Human Communication from ASU. She is currently serving as secretary on the Advisory Board.
