Students Entering 3rd Grade
A second grade math student entering 3rd grade should be able to:
- Add and subtract facts to 20
- Tell time
A second grade language arts student entering 3rd grade should be able to:
- Read independently on grade level for a minimum of 15 minutes
- Write complete sentences using correct conventions (capitalization, punctuation, vocabulary, spelling)
In addition, students entering 3rd grade should:
- Know basic Catholic prayers (including the Act of Contrition) and sacraments
- Know gestures, prayers, and responses at Mass
- Follow and implement the first 5 Discipline With Purpose (DWP) skills
- Recite the St. Mary-Basha Catholic School Mission Statement
- Know the St. Mary-Basha Catholic School Student Learning Expectations
