Welcome to the 2025–26 School Year at St. Mary-Basha Catholic School

Since 1944, St. Mary-Basha Catholic School has served as a vibrant and faith-filled learning community for students in PreK through 8th Grade. With over 400 students, we remain committed to nurturing each child in faith, achievement, community, tradition, and service—our ACTS of Faith. Everything we do is rooted in our Catholic faith and guided by these core pillars.

Faith Formation
Faith is the foundation of our school. We don’t just teach religion—we live it. Through daily prayer, religion classes, weekly Mass, retreats, and service projects, students are formed to live out the Gospel and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Achievement
We hold high expectations for all learners and celebrate individual growth. As an Apple Distinguished School, we use technology intentionally while still teaching timeless skills like handwriting, cursive, and reading from books. Our curriculum is rigorous and developmentally appropriate, with a strong focus on critical thinking and personal responsibility.

Community
SMB is more than a school—it’s a family. Our teachers, staff, parents, alumni, and parish community work together to support each child. Families are involved in many ways, from the Home and School Association to service opportunities and campus events. When you join SMB, you become part of something bigger.

Teaching
All of our teachers are fully certified professionals who bring knowledge, experience, and heart to the classroom. Ongoing professional development, collaboration, and a shared commitment to our mission ensure a high-quality, faith-driven education for every child.

Learning Needs
We meet students where they are. From enrichment and advanced opportunities to targeted interventions and support services, we provide the resources students need to succeed—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Affordability/Cost
We are proud to offer a high-value Catholic education at a cost that remains accessible. Tuition does not fully cover the cost of educating each child, but our generous fundraising efforts and community support bridge that gap. This allows us to provide an outstanding program while keeping tuition reasonable for our families.

Athletics & Enrichment
Our CYAA sports program, which begins in 5th grade, allows students of all skill levels to participate in volleyball, basketball, cross-country, and cheer. The program promotes teamwork, confidence, and school spirit.
For students in PreK through 8th grade, we also offer a variety of after-school enrichment classes such as dance, chess, robotics, art, science, drama, and more. These opportunities support whole-child development and allow students to explore new interests in a fun, supportive environment.

Co-Curricular and Electives
Junior high students explore a variety of electives including journalism, apologetics, career planning, personal finance, and technology. Students also participate in art, band, choir, theater, robotics, Academic Decathlon, NJHS, and student council. These opportunities help students discover passions, build confidence, and live out their faith through creativity and service.

Success and Achievement
Our graduates go on to thrive in high school and beyond. Whether excelling academically, taking on leadership roles, or continuing their faith journey, they carry with them the values and formation received at SMB. They are confident, compassionate, and ready to lead.

When you choose St. Mary-Basha, you’re choosing a school grounded in faith and guided by the pillars of Achievement, Community, Tradition, and Service. You’re joining a place where your child can grow spiritually, academically, and emotionally—while still enjoying the wonder of childhood.

I warmly invite you to tour our campus and experience for yourself what makes our community so special.

Blessings,
Mrs. Katie Lyon
