Student Council
St. Mary-Basha Catholic School has an established Student Council. The Student Council officers are elected annually. The officer positions include President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer, Spirituality, Publicity, and Spirit. Grades 4-8 also elect homeroom class representatives.
The Student Council sponsors a variety of spiritual, educational, and social events throughout the school year. The Student Council also organizes monthly school-wide service and community outreach including:
- canned food, toys, toiletries, water bottles and plastic bags for St. Vincent de Paul
- sock drive for Shoebox Ministries
- diaper drive for Aid to Women Center
- blanket drive for Paz de Cristo
- candy drive for the City of Chandler Police Department
- teddy bears for the Infant and Bereavement Support Team at Chandler Regional Medical Center
- blankets for the Purple Society
- pajamas for the Pajama Program Organization
- stamps, clothing, cleaning products, and money for Maggie’s Place
- water bottles for Paz de Cristo
- children’s books for the Chandler Public Library
- money for Feed My Starving Children, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, St. Bonaventure Indian Mission, Packages from Home, Bottles for Bethlehem, Adopt-a-Seminarian program, the Sisters of Charity, and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
