Robotics


SMB Robotics Club is an afterschool program and is a part of the First Lego League robotics program. The club is made up of two teams with students in 5th-8th grades. Students who participate learn problem-solving, programming skills, and teamwork, while having fun. From August through December, students build Lego structures using new game boards and program EV3 or Spike robots to perform a series of tasks. In addition, students recognize a Real World problem and create a solution. In December, the Robotics teams compete for a chance to go to the state competition. During the second half of the year, from January through May, the teams work to improve their understanding of the building and programming of the EV3 and Spike robots.
