Melanie Alimusa has been a teacher at St. Mary-Basha since 2005. She graduated from Arizona State University with both her B.A. and Masters of Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Technology. At SMB, Mrs. Alimusa has taught third and fourth grades before teaching 6th grade, where she currently teaches Religion, ELA and Social Studies. Mrs. Alimusa is an active member of the SMB community where she volunteers to sew bears for the 1st grade Teddy Bear Project, embroiders towels for Holy Thursday, is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, is an after school tutor, and is a mentor for the FLL Robotics Team.

Mrs. Alimusa has been married for over 25 years and has 2 daughters that attended SMB, Seton Catholic Prep, and 2 Arizona state colleges. Recently, she became a grandmother and enjoys spending time with her wonderful grandson. Growing up as an Army-brat has fueled her love of traveling both internationally and domestically. She has visited over 10 countries and 35 states. In her free time, Mrs. Alimusa also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, sewing, and camping.
