Mrs. Saavedra graduated from New Mexico Highlands University, May of 2006, with a degree in Elementary Education. She is certified in grades 1-8, with an endorsement in Structured English Immersion. Since then, Mrs. Saavedra has continued her professional development and has taken several graduate courses through the University of Notre Dame Program for Inclusive Education, as well as through Grand Canyon University. She has taught at several grade levels in Catholic schools both here in Arizona and in New Mexico, where her and her family are originally from. 
Mrs. Saavedra and her husband of 23 years have 3 children, one of which is still here at St. Mary-Basha and her two oldest are in high school. When not busy with her childrens’ sports/activities, she enjoys traveling, baking, cooking, watching movies, cheering on the Cowboys and the Suns, and playing Wordle.
